The following are examples of Lincoln Laboratory’s ongoing diversity efforts.
- The Laboratory sponsored the 2007 National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Region One Leadership Dinner. This was the final event in a leadership conference for NSBE student leaders from Pennsylvania to Canada. Lincoln Laboratory representatives attended the dinner and presented an overview of the Laboratory and ongoing research. The Laboratory is also a participant in regional and national NSBE events.
- Senior Staff member Christ Richmond was featured in a profile article in the NSBE Magazine.
- Lincoln Laboratory is a Platinum Sponsor of the Black Graduate Student Association at Georgia Institute of Technology. This is part of the Laboratory’s long-standing recruiting efforts at Georgia Tech.
- At the 2007 Society of Women Engineers (SWE) National Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, Lincoln Laboratory arranged and presented a panel discussion entitled “How to Prepare for, Obtain, and Succeed in a Career in Research.” Panelists represented a range of research-oriented organizations and disciplines, including environmental engineering and advanced electronics. The Laboratory is a member of the SWE Heritage Club.
- Assistant technical staff member Emily Anesta serves as section representative for SWE Boston and on the Board of Governors of the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology. She has been featured in the SWE Magazine.
- Lincoln Laboratory was a prime sponsor for the Women in Engineering Conference in Waltham, Massachusetts, and was pleased to present Dr. Mildred Dresselhaus, a National Medal of Science winner and leader of multiple professional societies. Dr. Dresselhaus recounted many of her experiences as a woman engineer and scientist.
- The Laboratory is a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Magazine Inner Circle and an active participant in regional and national SHPE conferences.
- Technical staff member Catherine Cabrera was featured in a profile article in the SHPE Magazine.

Through the Laboratory Women’s College Initiative, students from Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Wellesley College, and Bryn Mawr have received grants to fund travel to professional conferences.

Technical staff member David Freeman participated in a University of Michigan Diversity Panel and is active in assisting with outreach to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
- In 2006, 2007, and 2008, Lincoln Laboratory was a participant and exhibitor at the Careers and the disAbled magazine's Career Expo in Boston.
